Root Canals

Root Canals

We do root canals including molars at Odessa Dental! Many offices will refer out all root canals, which just adds more stress to an already stressful situation. We will refer only when there really is no other option. And you should also know that your root canal should be absolutely pain free. With advanced anesthesia techniques, we will make your tooth profoundly numb, and you will have no worries about pain during your root canal.

What Is A Root Canal?

A root canal can be described simply as a dental filling that goes all the way down the inside of the tooth to the tip of the root. During the process, the entire tooth is cleaned from the inside out, sterilized, and then sealed shut. The whole thing is done in order to remove infected pulp tissued from the inside of the tooth, and to preserve the tooth by preventing any new infection from ever coming back. This will cure most dental abscesses, and toothaches.

What are the benefits?

With a root canal you can keep a tooth that would otherwise need to be pulled. It will permanently end your toothache pain.

What happens next?

A crown is generally going to be recommended on teeth that have had a root canal. Without the crown these teeth are at high risk of breaking. After treatment you should be able to forget about the tooth and chew confidently without pain.
